So, a little package from Amazon arrived today that brought a big ol’ smile to my face. :)
I have been reading IDW’s excellent MLP comic books for a while now. Even though I own the individual issues, I love trade paperbacks too, especially since I’d prefer not to loan my not-as-durable individual issues to curious friends if possible. They even made the logo on the front cover sparkly!
If you’re a brony who hasn’t been reading the comics, now is a fine time to start. The artwork is excellent, and the storytelling is right up there with the best episodes of the show without the inhibitions of a TV-Y rating or product placement.
Just a quick practice sketch I did of Luna in preperation for the next entry on Spitfire’s tumblr. I don’t draw her very often, but she is indeed best princess.
I’m still working on Rarity in my MLP swimsuits series, and the good news is that I finally have time to work on drawings again. In the meantime, enjoy this bit of Evangelion / Pony crossover silliness that I traced during some of my spare time. :p
So I’ve been fooling around with Sketchbook Pro and I like the results I’ve gotten so far. Lineart comes out looking a lot nicer than photoshop, and I feel like it gives me a lot more control, unlike Photoshop where the lines always feel like an approximation and usually come out on the blobby side. Next week’s batch of Ask Spitfire answers were all drawn in SBP and colored in Photoshop, so hopefully everyone will like the difference. SBP lets me work a lot faster, and thus it’s a lot easier for me to hammer out multiple sketches before landing on one that I like.
It’s been a while since my last update, and I felt like doodling some spa ponies. How did people start calling the third one “Lotus Blossom” anyway?
Latest batch of requests.
